EB Rebel

After graduating from college with a Bachelors in Legal Studies, life led EB Rebel to create music. Rebel always had aspirations of a musical career, but decided to choose a more tangible profession in the legal field. Thanks to the plummeting economy, and their burning desire to create, EB Rebel decided to skip law school to become a musical artist. While creating multiple beats a day, they began to find their voice as both a producer, and an artist. After submitting their music to the Raw Dallas showcase committee, and getting a response almost instantly, EB was convinced music was their true calling.

The breakthrough for EB Rebel would come in 2015. Rebel felt compelled to act after the murders of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Rebel would write a Black Lives Matter anthem they hoped would inspire the movement. In May 2016, Rebel released the single and video for “Don’t Care,” the lead single from their EP “TRANCE.” After sharing the single with BLM activist DeRay McKesson, the song began to spread. The anthem landed on DFW outlet Central Track, and was featured in the national publication Afropunk. Within a week, the song would make it to the team of “Stay Woke,” a BET documentary directed by Laurens Grant and produced by Jesse Williams. The documentary aired on BET on May 26, 2016. The soundtrack also featured hip hop heavyweights such as J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Since then, Rebel has released a number of singles, which have accumulated over half a million streams. They have gone on to gain the attention of national publications and brands such as Afropunk, EARMILK, Sofar Sounds, Bose, and more.
